    Sixty seven people are presumed dead after the Washington plane crash, where a passenger plane and a military helicopter collided mid-air. President Donald Trump confirmed today there are no survivors. The American Airlines flight had been carrying 60 people and four crew members. The Black Hawk chopper had three soldiers on board, with both aircrafts crashing into the Potomac River. It’s the first fatal airline crash in the United States since 2009.

    The Australian Government has received a report from Russia that Oscar Jenkins, who travelled to fight for Ukraine, is alive and being held as a prisoner of war. Foreign Minister Penny Wong said in a statement if Jenkins does not receive the protections he is entitled to under international humanitarian law, Australia’s response will be “unequivocal”.

    On January 15 1995 at approximately 3:30am, a fire was deliberately lit in a three-storey block of apartments in Sydney’s south-west suburb of Liverpool. Forensic pathologist Peter Ellis said fire travelled up the stairs to the top floor, killing seven adults and one child. “There was allegedly definite evidence that accelerant had been used,” Ellis said, “Poured in the steps of the stairwell, maybe further up into the apartment itself.
