In the trachea, IL-6 expression was significantly increased (*** p ≤ 0.001), (** p ≤ 0.01) and (*p ≤ 0.05) at 10 dpi in Sonali chickens compared to broiler chickens (Fig. 2a). Whereas, a significant increase in IL-8 expression in the Sonali chicken group at 3 dpi compared to broiler. However, IL-8 expression was returned to lower level for Sonali chickens, at 5, 7, and 10 dpi; whereas, it remained at the minimum level at all the time points tested for broiler chickens (Fig. 2b).
