The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is considering Washington state for a possible location for one of a network of artificial intelligence (AI) data centers across the nation. Richland, WA which is home to the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory is among 16 sites under consideration. The Tri-Cities area is flush with the skilled workforce to build and staff power generation facilities for an AI data center.

When it's on E John St. in Seattle. Something interesting is happening in a neighborhood on Capitol Hill where somebody has decided that some intersections without stop signs, need them. According to seattletimes.com,‘The stop signs on 14th Avenue East and East John Street in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood didn’t look right to Dante Morelli. The poles weren’t square, but U-shaped like the ones someone might buy at Home Depot.

Yesterday, during my daily walk down Wenatchee Avenue, I noticed something rather unusual. It's not actually too unusual to notice something unusual on Wenatchee Avenue if you look hard enough, even every day, but this bit of unusual was especially qualifying. Peeking out from behind the topiaries and plopped atop the A-frame signs that are in front of few businesses in the downtown area, I noticed a rubberized toy version of the infamous poop emoji gleefully grinning back at me.

A tractor fire occurred in Othello Saturday. Adams County Sheriff's Office says it happened in a field in the 2800 block of W Gillis Rd. The office adds the cause is unclear. The Sheriff's Office issues a safety alert urging residents to focus on accident prevention and equipment maintenance. They say it's important to inspect machinery, which includes checking tractors, planters, sprayers, and other equipment for repairs. Also check for worn belts, hydraulic leaks, and proper tire inflation.

The accident in Fabens, Texas on Sunday was a sad reminder that people have to be vey careful around train tracks and crossings. Here are some things to remember. A 24 year old man was walking near train tracks in Fabens Sunday when he was hit by a passing train. Witnesses said he seemed unaware of the approaching train. His clothing and electronics apparently prevented him from hearing the train and several warning blasts from its horn.
