Chase Stegall, a DePaul men’s soccer player, passed away unexpectedly this morning, June 2, in his residence hall on the university’s Lincoln Park campus, DePaul President Rob Manuel announced in an email to faculty, staff and students. “Chase was known for his warmth, strength of character, and vibrant presence – qualities that touched the lives of many both on and off the field,” Manuel said. “His loss is deeply felt by his teammates, coaches, classmates, faculty, staff, and all who knew him.

Late May can only mean one thing: new tuition rates are here for the 2025-26 school year. DePaul raised undergraduate tuition by an average of 3.3%, with the sharpest hike hitting incoming freshmen in The Theatre School (TTS) and the School of Music (SOM), which both face a 5% increase compared to last year’s freshman class. Conversely, the smallest increase was also for theatre and music students — rising seniors, whose tuition rose by 2%.

Manuel appeared before the House Committee on Education & Workforce on Wednesday, May 7, with California Polytechnic State University (San Luis Obispo) president Jeffrey Armstrong and Haverford College president Wendy Raymond.
