The pickleball courts at Creekside Park in Brentwood will soon close at 7 p.m. instead of 9 p.m. after the City Council voted 5-0 to cut the hours as a way to reduce noise levels that are annoying those living near the facility. According to the staff report for the meeting, noise concerns have been a recurring issue for residents living near pickleball courts nationwide, not just in Brentwood.

The Brentwood Planning Commission voted 4-0 during their March 18 meeting to delay making a decision on the design of Fire Station 94, the proposed fire station to be located on First Street. Commissioner Jeremy Jones recused himself from the discussion, citing the fact that his employer has a building near the proposed site. The vote to pick up the discussion later came just before midnight after more than four hours of deliberating on the topic.

Brentwood has taken the next step in the construction of the Sand Creek Sports Complex as the council voted 5-0 to award the contract for Phase 1A of the project to Robert Bothman Construction as part of their March 11 meeting. “We are extremely excited to be here tonight presenting this item, which is a project that has been around for 20-plus years,” Parks Maintenance Manager Aaron Wanden said during his presentation for the council.
