Andrew’s American Pizza Kitchen opened Dec. 15, according to co-owner Jennifer Albert. The family-owned restaurant, located at 1401 Preston Road, cooks up Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, New York and tavern-style pizzas. Thanks to a partnership with Amazon’s Career Choice program, Collin College is now offering discounted tuition, books and fees for Amazon employees. The partnership provides eligible Amazon associates the chance to receive up to 100% of all tuition, books and fees paid while pursuing undergraduate college credit courses at Collin College, according to a news release from the college. This includes certificates, associate degrees and bachelor’s degrees.

To cut costs across the company, Bed Bath & Beyond is closing 150 stores nationwide, including the Plano location at 6400 W. Plano Parkway, Ste. 125. As a result of the pending closure, the Plano Bed Bath & Beyond is having a storewide sale, and all products are 20%-30% off. A spokesperson with the store said that there is no closing date set.

Bahama Mama opened its first location Dec. 10, according to owner Jaime Sandoval. The shop, located at 4152 W. Spring Parkway, offers a variety of CBD, THC, delta and vapor products, including edibles, beverages and disposable vape pens. Pet products are also available, including CBD-infused treats for dogs and cats. “People don’t realize how much pets need it,” Sandoval said. “If they’re older, it can take away the pain. If they’re traveling, it can take the edge off.

The Plano Senior High School Wildcats have found a new leader of the pack. During a Feb. 7 PISD board meeting, Plano Senior High Principal Jeff Banner announced Cody White as the new athletic coordinator and head football coach of Plano Senior High. “After a long and thorough search accompanied by a very competitive interview process, I’m thrilled and excited to announce our new head coach and athletic director for Plano Senior High Wildcats,” Banner said.
