DENVER — The Denver Nuggets already told us their roster isn’t good enough this year, firing their general manager on the eve of the postseason. The biggest issue with the roster Calvin Booth constructed? Depth. It was the main culprit in the Nuggets’ pivotal Game 4 92-87 loss to Oklahoma City on Sunday, which evened the series at 2-2 and took home-court advantage back to the NBA’s top-seeded Thunder.

One of the longest tenured managers in Major League Baseball has been canned, as the Colorado Rockies relieved Bud Black of his duties on Sunday. The Rockies are off to a horrible start, but funny enough, got one of their rare seven wins earlier in the day. Black had been on the job since 2017. Former Rockies minor league manager at a few stops and current third base coach, Warren Schaffer, will take over in the meantime. Mike Redmond was also let go.

For the last Canadian player to play in and win the NBA Finals, he danced, dimed and dacoited as the higher powers took hold in the Denver Nuggets’ 113-104 Game 3 overtime victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Kyle Freeland couldn’t help but nearly cry as the Colorado Rockies lost again, pleading with fans to keep believing in the purple pinstripes as they recorded their 30th loss of the season before getting seven wins. Somehow, the day got worse for the Mile High Nine, who played again later in the day as part of a doubleheader with the Detroit Tigers and lost again. The two losses dropped the Rockies to 6-31, tied for the worst 37-game start in the history of Major League Baseball.

DENVER — The difference in rest between the Denver Nuggets and Oklahoma City Thunder is vast, and while that is totally a factor, the former champions from the Mile High City know it’s just part of the deal in the playoffs. The Nuggets have been playing basketball about every 48 hours since April 29, soon totaling six games in 11 days. Their foes from OKC have had starters play only six games since April 8.
