After the House v NCAA settlement agreement led ASU to increase its scholarship allotment from the prior maximum of 11.7 to the new 2026 season limit of 34, and with many of his top players departing, Bloomquist showed that he was capable of hitting it big in the portal.

Hairston bat .333 with four homers and 37 RBIs last year. Another big retention piece for Willie Bloomquist after Cole Carlon announced he would return just a few days ago. Bloomquist lost multiple key freshman pieces to the portal last year and is trying to avoid a similar fate this offseason.
