Following the success of Sifu, developers Sloclap pivoted to making a sports game with REMATCH , its take on football/soccer. As a 5v5 online multiplayer arcade game that infuses much more action than you would get from a typical game in real life, many were looking forward to playing with friends natively or through crossplay. Unfortunately, the launch in Early Access came with the caveat that crossplay won’t be available, and the studio has come out to apologise.

Visual novels are a unique phenomenon in the gaming space. The genre excels at allowing narratives to breathe and develop, but lacks the level of graphical fidelity and gameplay innovation that can serve as engaging hooks. This means that the storytelling must be truly captivating, the characters are worth investing in, and the player’s choices matter. For Sassy Chap Games‘ Date Everything!, it seems that the developers have nailed exactly what needs to be done.

It has just been a few weeks since we learned of an animated adaptation of Kojima Productions‘ Death Stranding, and the project now has a writer attached to it. Raised by Wolves‘ Aaron Guzikowski will lend his talents to the screenplay, which will be an original story set in the same universe as the games. This differs from the live-action film that is being headed up by the folks at A24 and director Michael Sarnoski.

With the current state of things, the console wars are not really a thing anymore. PlayStation may still be focusing on its core ecosystem, with occasional forays into PC gaming, but Xbox has essentially evolved into a service that spans multiple devices.
