ہمارے ہاں دیہاتوں میں جب شادیاں ہوتی ہیں تو مہندی لگانے (ہندو کمیونٹی میں سندور بھرنے) کی رسم رات بارہ ایک بجے کے بعد ہوتی ہے- لیکن جب سہاگ رات کا پروگرام ہوتا ہے تو کاروائی آٹھ بجے ہی شروع ہو جاتی ہے-
