Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc has teamed up with Italian gelato masters Federico Grom and Guido Martinetti to launch a new reduced calorie ice cream brand. Called Lec, the sweet treat was “a celebration of taste, lightness, and indulgence”, according to the brand. It has launched on the rapid delivery service Gopuff (rsp: £5.60/460ml).

Pernod Ricard UK is to make “choiceful” marketing investments in the spirits brands it believes have the highest potential for growth, following the sale of its wine business. Julia Massies, MD of Pernod Ricard UK, told The Grocer offloading its “strategic international wine” portfolio to Accolade Wines owner Australian Wine HoldCo would enable it to boost marketing spend on brands including Altos, Lillet and Jameson. “Next year we’ll be investing more behind our spirits,” Massies said.

Cornish Orchards has switched to fully renewable energy at its cider farm in Duloe, south east Cornwall. The move had resulted in a 94% reduction in Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions without offsetting, the Asahi-owned cidermaker said. To achieve renewable production, Cornish Orchards has installed a combined air and water heat pump system to replace the diesel boiler used to generate hot water. The heat pump is powered by electricity bought directly from a solar farm in Somerset.

Trip has launched a new Wild Strawberry flavoured drink featuring an on-pack partnership with meditation app Calm. The latest edition to Trip’s Mindful Blend lineup has launched in Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Waitrose (rsp: £2.30/330ml). It is also available in the Sainsbury’s meal deal offer. The NPD contains magnesium and botanicals including chamomile, lion’s mane and lemon balm. It offered notes of “sweet wild strawberry with tangy grape and a touch of aromatic sage”, according to Trip.

Princes Group has unveiled a new campaign aimed at boosting the profile of UK food manufacturing. The ‘UKM’ campaign will showcase a new UKM stamp, which was “designed to underscore the value of UK-made products”, according to the supplier. The stamp will feature on products manufactured at Princes’ 10 UK sites, starting with its soft drinks and ready meals ranges, Crosse & Blackwell soups and Crisp ‘n Dry Oil.
