SIDNEY — In a matter of minutes, 4,000 plastic Easter eggs were scooped up by area youth during the Sidney Elks Lodge #1782's annual Easter egg hunt at Veterans Memorial Park on Saturday morning (April 12). Lynn Shelmerdine, manager and secretary of the Elks Lodge, said that it took about 20 members of the Elks Lodge about 30 to 40 minutes to scatter the eggs across the park. It took longer to stuff them, she noted, pointing out that the eggs contained candy or toys.

TIOGA — When a package arrived from the North Dakota State Library on March 22, Sandy Clark was only slightly caught off guard. It was a Saturday morning when Clark brought the package with her to work at the Tioga Community Library. She opened it up and staring at her was a letter from North Dakota State Librarian Mary L. Soucie and a 2024 North Dakota Star Library award—something which Clark has endeavored to receive ever since she was hired as the library director in 2019.

TRENTON — A man was arrested Monday (April 7) after he was found to be in possession of a number of drugs, including methamphetamine, while on school property.
