One minute, you’re headed for Saturday samples at Costco, the next minute, you are a stranger in a foreign land, detained indefinitely at a black site, never to be seen again. The first telling of the “wrong turn into Canada” story was a farce. It was a skit on the sitcom “Detroiters.” It was an urban legend—Exit 47B, The Exit That Shall Not Be Taken.

    When Michigan does become a right-to-work state again someday, the law will need an update for modern times. If union membership should not be a precondition for getting or keeping a job, nor should ideological training, swear-tos, or vaccination status. Workers need freedom from coercion in all forms. Since Gov. Gretchen Whitmer and the Democrats were kind enough to repeal Michigan’s right-to-work law in 2023, the modern version can be built back better.

    A photo showing Lansing reporter Tim Skubick wearing a big black mask while interviewing a lawmaker outside the Capitol was recently posted on X by the Midwesterner. Twitter (now known as X) is the worst thing that could’ve ever happened to journalists. Before Twitter, journalists like Skubick could pretend that no one could see their pro-Democrat bias. What they don’t realize is that with every word, with every choice or mannerism, their bias becomes more clear.

Julie Brixie’s walk to work just got 1,000 yards longer after House Speaker Matt Hall passed down punishment for her vandalism against a Republican colleague last week, Michigan Enjoyer has confirmed. At this juncture, the punishments are indefinite, said a House source familiar with the details of Brixie’s punishment. No time frame or terms have been set.
