As our climate is changing, flooding is becoming a norm. However the prolonged, intense downpours that Storm Bert brought meant that many experienced flooding for the first time.

If a group of us were asked to submit essays using the subject “What Is Pure Religion?”  It would be interesting to read what would be written. Yet James answered the question using only twenty-eight words (KJV) “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, to visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world. (James 1:27)  James prioritizes two virtues: compassion and good character.

For the second year in a row, enrollment is up at the City University of New York heading into fall semester. Increasing numbers of New Yorkers come to CUNY to meet their educational goals and obtain a degree from the country’s largest urban public university. This is welcome news after COVID-19 took a toll on enrollment and destabilized the university’s finances and workforce.
