Connelly, 22, returns to his hometown club after a short stint at FC United, where he made six appearances. Having first joined Clitheroe in 2019, he spent several seasons at the club and also gained loan experience at Longridge Town. A permanent move to Lancaster City followed in the summer of 2022 for Connelly, who went on to spend two seasons with the Dolly Blues.

In 2010, he took over as the club secretary and has diligently performed the role for 14 years, before deciding to take up a new challenge as the CEO. The club was purchased by green energy company HDM Worldwide in July, taking over from long-time owner Pete Smurthwaite.

Young Burnley goalkeeper Charlie Casper has joined the club on a 28-day loan, while attacking midfielder Keane Barugh has returned to Broadhurst Park on a permanent deal following his departure from Football League side Stockport County. Clegg, 47, departed the Colls in 2019 after five years and 300 games in charge. Since then, he has enjoyed managerial spells with Ashton United, Warrington Rylands and most recently, Macclesfield. An experienced coach at various levels of non-league, Clegg guided Atherton Collieries to three promotions during his tenure, as well as cup successes in the North West Counties Football League Cup, NPL League Cup and Bolton Hospital Cup.

Ambrose joins Mark Fell's side following his departure from NWCFL side Bury FC. He arrives with an esteemed pedigree, having made over 100 appearances for Celtic and featuring 51 times for the Nigeria national team, including a trophy-winning campaign in the African Cup of Nations in 2013. The 35-year-old was also in the starting XI for Celtic when they famously defeated Barcelona at Celtic Park in the 2012/13 Champions League - a season which saw the Bhoys reach the Round of 16.
