A study has revealed a "large variation" in the use of a prostate cancer test among GP surgeries for men who show no signs of the disease. The prostate-specific antigen (PSA) test, a blood test used to check for conditions including prostate cancer or an enlarged prostate, is not routinely offered on the NHS. However, it may be offered if a GP suspects a patient has prostate cancer. Men over 50 can also request a PSA test from their GP, even without symptoms.

NHS data suggests that an increasing number of individuals with mental health issues are receiving employment advice as part of an initiative to reintegrate them into the workforce. NHS England's new figures reveal that 67,794 people started receiving employment advice through the NHS talking therapies programme last year, a significant increase of 62% from the 41,907 in the previous year.

A body has been found in the search for a missing woman from Newcastle. Rachael Bowman, 33, was first reported missing from the Cowgate area on Sunday afternoon. However, following extensive enquiries by Northumbria Police to try and locate her, a body was found in the South Shields area this morning.

Officials have announced that hundreds of people in England suffering from a rare form of eye cancer will now have access to a "pioneering" drug on the NHS. The drug, Tebentafusp – marketed under the brand name Kimmtrak – is the first treatment of its kind for uveal melanoma, a disease that originates from cells in the middle layer of the eye, known as the uvea. This condition is estimated to affect between 500 and 600 individuals in the UK annually.
