Laurent Garnier has hinted that he will be stepping back from touring “very soon”. In an interview with France Inter Radio, broadcast on 10th April, Garnier explained that he would be drastically reducing the number of live dates he does over the coming months. He explained that after he had fulfilled existing bookings, he would no longer appear at big festivals and the few shows he does book will be in smaller venues. “I’m going to stop touring like I always have,” he said.

Reggae legend Max Romeo has died. The news was shared via the artist born Maxwell Smith's social media channels on Friday, 11th April. The Guardian that he passed away due to complications relating to a heart condition. He was 80. “It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Max,” the statement read. “We are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and tributes, and kindly ask for privacy at this time.

The Prodigy returned to Coachella for their third visit on Friday, performing a set stacked with hits for the festival’s first weekend of 2025. Under cover of the Mojave Tent, Liam Howlett and MC/dancer Maxim led their band through a 14-song set that encompassed their entire career and honoured the late Keith Flint, who died in 2019.

Mexican festival AXE Ceremonia was cancelled over the weekend after two photographers were killed when a crane collapsed on site. The festival, which included Charli XCX, LCD Soundsystem, Fuerza Regida and more on its line-up, officially closed on 5th April following the tragic incident. Both photographers – Miguel Angel Rojas, 26, and Berenice Giles, 28 – were reportedly working on behalf of the independent media outlet Mr. Indie.
