In an April 3 game against the New York Yankees, Geraldo Perdomo hit a groundball to shortstop and an errant throw allowed him to make it to second base. But as he turned the corner from first, he felt something that no athlete wants to feel — a pop in his knee. “I knew it was something big because I couldn’t run,” Perdomo said. Only seven games into the season, an MRI revealed that Perdomo had a torn meniscus in his right knee.
