There has been no decision, at least for now, on a preliminary injunction from Judge Lauren King in Washington State’s lawsuit against U.S. President Donald Trump over his executive order banning federal funding for gender-affirming care for minors. King granted a temporary restraining order against Trump two weeks ago but said Friday she would “have a decision at a later time” regarding a preliminary injunction. Time is the operative word.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Police Department’s Interim Chief Sue Rahr will vacate her office Wednesday to make way for new department chief Shon Barnes, according to memo emailed to the department Monday. Rahr’s memo, which was obtained by KIRO Newsradio, states she is “clearing out the ‘Chief’s Office’” Wednesday. From there, “Chief Barnes will be moving into his Seattle home and start moving his stuff into the Chief’s Office,” Rahr wrote.
