    I'm looking forward to striking a couple of late carnival blows on Saturday. It's the last day of the carnival which has flown by this year – I must be getting old. The results have been mixed this year. I've ridden my share of winners but there's been a few near misses. Just quickly, a word on Anamoe last week. He was brave but with the conditions the way they were he just found a couple better on the day. Dubai Honour was awesome, but my bloke ran his heart out as he always does.

    The Sydney weather has done it again. Everything was looking good up until last Saturday morning, 10mm of rain later, the track goes from a good (4) to a heavy (8) and we've had more rain since. After riding on it last week I can't see the track being any better than genuine heavy conditions on Saturday. I need those Weather Gods to start shining some sunshine down on us and if they do it might get back to a soft (7). It is what it is; that's Randwick.
