    As you know, the two states of Indiana and Ohio aren’t too far apart from each other. Indiana is called the Hoosier State, while Ohio is known as the Buckeye State. When you think of those two states squaring off in college, a lot of us would easily think of Indiana and Ohio State. Here in the Horizon League, we have five schools proudly representing these two states. Speaking of Indiana, the Wright State Raiders men’s and women’s basketball teams here in the Buckeye State.

    Earlier today, it was announced that Wright State women’s basketball player Rylee Sagester was named the Horizon League Freshman of the Week, making her the first Raider basketballer on the women’s side to receive conference weekly honors in the 2024-25 season.

    The Wright State men’s and women’s basketball teams continued conference play on Sunday afternoon. While one team passed the test with ease, the other team just failed it by one possession. The men’s team suffered their third straight road loss with a close 75-72 defeat at the hands of the Robert Morris Colonials, while the women’s team won their second straight game with a dominant 77-62 victory over the Youngstown State Penguins.

    The Wright State Raiders men’s and women’s basketball teams will both resume Horizon League action on Sunday, January 12, with the men’s team playing on the road against the Robert Morris Colonials, while the women stay at home to face the Youngstown State Penguins for their T1D Awareness Game. Both games start at 2ET and they can both be seen on ESPN Plus. Home cooking: Earlier this week, both teams had home games at the Nutter Center and protected home court although the task wasn’t easy.
