Mississippi State landed small forward Sam Walters in the transfer portal on Thursday, according to On3sports. The news came just hours after the Bulldogs secured Amier Ali of Arizona State. Walters began his college career at Alabama in 2023-24 before transferring to Michigan. He did not start at either school, but averaged 5.3 points per game and shot 38.2% from three between the two. He played in 60 games and averaged 12.5 minutes per game.

Jordan Thompson is the new head boys basketball coach at Hickory Flat. The school announced the news via social media on Thursday. Thompson graduated from Hickory Flat in 2013, then served as a manager at both Itawamba Community College and Blue Mountain Christian University. It’s hard to wrap my head around how out-of-control this has gotten. For those unaware, college sports had its first “contractual dispute” play out over the past few days. Tennessee quarterback Nico Iamaleava, who was allegedly given between $8-$10 million to come to Knoxville out of high school, is now leaving after basically asking for more money in the offseason and was told to kick rocks. I’ve been able to put up with a lot of college sports’s nonsense in recent years.

Ole Miss secured the commitments of two transfers on Tuesday in Kansas guard A.J. Storr and Louisville guard Koren Johnson. Both moves were first reported by On3sports. Storr's college basketball journey has been extensive. It started at St. John’s in 2022-23, where he averaged 8.8 points per game and shot 40.4% from three while starting 17 of 33 games.
