As far as Gold Cup warm-up matches go, the United States’ games against Turkey (2-1 defeat) and Switzerland (4-0 defeat) were about as bad as it gets. Questions were being asked in every direction and of everyone involved, from the absences and the inclusions, to the program and the planning. So what’s a USMNT to do? Defeating Trinidad and Tobago convincingly by five goals to nil in San Jose is as much as it can do at this stage.
