    Car rental giant Hertz Corporation has confirmed that customer data from its Hertz, Thrifty, and Dollar brands may have been stolen in a cyberattack involving one of its vendors, file transfer firm Cleo. The company said that data was accessed by an “unauthorised third party” who exploited “zero-day vulnerabilities” in the platform between October and December last year. Since then, Hertz has identified individuals whose personal information may have been impacted.

    Nvidia has announced plans to manufacture AI supercomputers in the United States for the first time. Over the next four years, the company said that it aims to produce up to half a trillion dollars’ worth of AI infrastructure in the US, through manufacturing partnerships with TSMC, Foxconn, Wistron, Amkor and SPIL. Production has already commenced at TSMC’s semiconductor facilities in Phoenix, Arizona, while Nvidia is also constructing supercomputer manufacturing plants in Texas.

    Data centres across the globe are set to more than double their electricity consumption by 2030, according to the International Energy Agency. The rapid rise, which will be largely driven by demand for artificial intelligence and other digital services, will see data centres consuming around 945 terawatt-hours in the next five years, surpassing Japan’s total current electricity usage.

May be time for the BBC to revamp #TheApprentice. So much of it feels tired, especially the interview stage. It is just absurd. This year the best candidate was fired before the final five. One of the final three has a £20k business and made up logo wins.
