Swinton Lions have confirmed the signing of former England rugby star, Paul Wood as the new Head Coach. The Lions have announced the decision ahead of the 2025 season, after the recent resignation of Alan Kilshaw, following the clubs relegation to the third division. Paul Wood will step into the role and will return to the club following a brief stint as a player at the end of the 2018 season.

Matty Foster has signed a one-year extension at Salford Red Devils keeping him at the club for the 2025 season. The extension in the contract will see the play continue to play for the club after he joined from St Helens ahead of the 2024 season. Foster will be hoping to extend to the clubs success, with the side reaching the playoff places in the 2024 campaign.

Earlier on Tuesday, all 48 works in a sale devoted to Calitzdorp artist-potter Hylton Nel sold, achieving what in the auction-world parlance is called a white-glove sale.
