Free Car Mag have always loved the Dune Buggy, a wonderful way to get around the dessert in some real style. Imagine being able to do that in your own back yard, well Tamiya make that happen with their usual brilliant model. Get it here from Wonderland Models on special offerThe new DT-04 – a 2WD rear wheel drive buggy chassis – of course offers ease of assembly and lively performance, which is a characteristic of this series.

This is terribly exciting for all of us at Free Car Mag. Here is a one 10th scale Classic GTI that we can drive. It will be available on May 1st, a proper May Day from retailers such as Wonderland Models. More details to come soon and possibly a build by our RC expert Kiran. We wrote a book about them many years ago so we are looking forward to comparing the model to the real thing we used to know, love and drive every day.

Last time I’d found an old TV proposal down the back of the sofa called Car Trouble and foisted it on you as some sort of lost gem of an idea. Certainly putting an ‘80s Kurt Russell as presenter has given it a fresh spin, however in this Part 2 scenario we have co-opted Snake Plissken out of Escape from New York to do the honours. He at least has the skills to thump and possibly shoot people if they get in the way of the story. Car Trouble a Television Proposal for Channel 4 in 2000 or so.

Well this was fun, Free Car Mag have been let loose with the Autoglym Polar Foam Sprayer. Below is our review with Future Proof Cars where we prove how essential it is keep your car super clean if you want it to last a decently long time. We didn’t use much water, or a pressure washer and had bags of fun in the process.

I used to be slightly involved in the television business. I won’t bore you with details, but I was reminded of the fake, made up nonsense of it all when I came across Car Trouble on a back up computer disc from over twenty years ago. I had completely forgotten I’d written this proposal and normally it would stay forgotten on the grounds that it wasn’t very good. I don’t want to sound my car horn too loudly at this point, but I rather liked what I read.
