Easter egg hunts and events are popping up around the county from aquatic hunts to music recordings to traditional gatherings in the park or church. Here is a list of information on Easter events: Quest Farm is hosting a community Easter egg hunt Friday, April 18 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 627 Glass Pike. It is requested participants bring their own basket, according to the event page on Facebook.

Drew Beckett, Director of Georgetown/Scott County Parks and Recreation (GSC Parks) shared operating statistics, accomplishments and future goals for GSC Parks at Monday’s Chamber Luncheon. GSC Parks averaged 89,300 visitor days per month through 2024, Beckett said. “If you hear people say, ‘Oh, there is nothing for people to do in Georgetown. There’s nothing for the kids to do,’ Somebody is doing something,” he said.
TN man with active warrant captured

Marcus Brooks was arrested Wednesday morning by Georgetown Police Department’s (GPD) Special Response Team (SRT) in the area of Coleman Lane, according to Georgetown Police officials. Brooks was arrested on an active warrant for probation violation related to a murder charge out of Tennessee, states a police department Facebook post. GPD SRT was supported by patrol, K9 and drone units, according to the post.

The Sheriff’s Office move in date has been delayed to June 1 due to extended issues with the glass vendor and windows, according to Judge Executive Joe Pat Covington at Friday’s Fiscal Court meeting. “All the glass is still not there,” Covington said. “There are issues with some installation, in my mind. … We’re just totally being held up by this glass vendor.” Magistrate Ryan Pratt asked if the same vendor is working on the EMS project.
GPD charge one in homicide investigation

Christian Best, 22, of Georgetown has been identified as the victim in a reported shooting that happened Friday in the area of Thornedale Drive and Paris Pike, according to Scott County Coroner Mark Sutton. The incident happened around 7:15 p.m., according to Georgetown Police officials. Zekial Hofstetter has been charged with reckless homicide in the case, according to Georgetown Police Department Assistant Chief Josh Nash. “It did happen in a vehicle,” Nash said.
