FOGGY START: A dense fog advisory is in effect for the southern half of Alabama early this morning; the fog will dissipate by 9:00 a.m. in most places. Alabama’s weather will be rain-free through Friday with partly to mostly sunny mild days and fair cool nights. Highs will be mostly in the mid to upper 70s, but a few spots will reach the low 80s today and then again on Friday. STORMS RETURN: Moisture surges northward, and we will bring in a chance of showers and thunderstorms Saturday.

RADAR CHECK: Rain is confined to the far southern part of Alabama this afternoon; the sky has cleared over the northern counties. Rain over south Alabama ends this evening, and the sky becomes mostly fair statewide late tonight. Expect lows Tuesday morning between 45 and 55 degrees. REST OF THE WEEK: Alabama’s weather for the rest of the week looks dry with highs mostly in the 70s, lows in the 40s and 50s, partly to mostly sunny days and fair nights.

RADAR CHECK: Rain is widespread across Alabama early this morning along and south of I-59; there are few heavier storms over the southern counties, but they are well below severe limits. We note SPC (NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center) maintains a low end “marginal risk” of severe thunderstorms for far South Alabama and along the Gulf Coast today a few storms there could produce small hail and gusty winds. There is no tornado risk.
