WARMING UP: Afternoon highs rise into the mid 80s across most of Alabama this afternoon with a partly sunny sky. We will mention the risk of a few widely scattered showers over the northern counties this afternoon, but a decent part of the state will be dry as the upper low continues to lift away from the Deep South. Tomorrow and Friday will be warm and dry with a partly sunny sky afternoon highs will be in the 87-90 degree range.

RADAR CHECK: Areas of rain and a few thunderstorms are moving eastward across the northern two-thirds of Alabama this afternoon. The southern third of the state is dry with a partly to mostly sunny sky. Showers will end after sunset tonight; temperatures will drop into the low to mid 60s early Wednesday morning. REST OF THE WEEK: As an upper low continues to move away, most of the state will be dry Wednesday, with only isolated afternoon showers over the northern and eastern counties.

UNSETTLED WEATHER CONTINUES: The upper low that has been west of Alabama is moving slowly to the northeast today and will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms to the northern half of the state this afternoon and early tonight. The highest coverage will come from about 1 until 8 p.m., and like recent days a few strong storms will be possible, with small hail and gusty winds. Showers will be hard to find over south Alabama, where temperatures should reach the low 80s.

UNSETTLED WEATHER CONTINUES: The upper low that has been west of Alabama is moving slowly to the northeast today, and will bring another round of showers and thunderstorms to the northern half of the state this afternoon and early tonight. Highest coverage will come from about 1:00 until 8:00 p.m and like recent days a few strong storms will be possible with small hail and gusty winds. Showers will be hard to find over South Alabama where temperatures should reach the low 80s.

RADAR CHECK: A large mass of rain and a few thunderstorms are over southwest Alabama this afternoon as a hybrid low over the Gulf moves inland. Most of north Alabama is dry, with only isolated showers; temperatures are mostly in the 70s. Rain will spread northward tonight with a cloudy sky; temperatures will fall into the 60s. THE WEEKEND: An upper trough will remain positioned west of Alabama over the weekend, and we will forecast periods of rain Saturday, Sunday and Monday.
