To give you just one example, while visiting the Courtyard theatre on Saturday evening, I used the RingGo parking app to pay the evening parking fee and was charged £3.80 for the duration. Having paid the fee, I then by chance looked at the noticeboard by the coin-operated machine to find to my horror that the cost had I paid by cash would have been less at £3.50. On Good Friday, I travelled on the 11.20am between Leominster and Newport. The train was 10 minutes late and already crammed full, it was standing room only at Leominster. It became busier at Hereford and Abergavenny and at Cwmbran, the guard had to effectively move people into the aisles between seats so that a mother could board with her child in a pushchair. OTHER NEWS: Those who moved had nothing to hold onto and could do nothing to help themselves as the train swayed along the tracks.

Herefordshire Council said Old Church Road in Colwall, near Ledbury, would be closed for 33 days from Monday, May 8. In a public notice, the council said the road would be shut from Stone Drive towards the B4218 in the village. OTHER NEWS: The diversion will be via Walwyn Road and Mill Lane, and vice versa, the council said. It said the closure was needed due to the gas main works and the likelihood of danger to the public while the works are taking place.
