He's a rising star on the European scene, and his latest offering features his long-running trio of Patrice Moret on bass and Julian Sartorius on drums. Across the record 'Samares', the band explores a myriad of different textures across some expansive, original tunes - with subtle electronics and some prepared piano moments to go along with the more traditional trio sound.

The late Roy Hargrove was a true trumpet titan. From funk to soul to jazz, he really had all bases covered - and much like Dizzy Gillespie before him, Hargrove had a real love of Latin jazz too. In the 1990s, he formed a group named 'Roy Hargrove's Crisol', and the outfit won a Grammy for their 1997 debut. The band tracked a second session not long after, but it's never seen the light of day... until now.

Sasha Berliner is one of the contemporary leaders on the vibraphone, and the New York-based musician has just dropped a new record. It's entitled 'Fantome', or Phantom in English, and it's a session bursting with creative flair. On the release, Berliner joins a host of American heavyweights, including pianist and recent GRAMMY winner Taylor Eigsti performing across a mix of standards and originals.
