    WILMINGTON, N.C. (WECT) - North Carolina State Treasurer Dale Folwell, CPA, released a report Wednesday saying that several hospitals billed state employees for over 5 times the acquisition cost for cancer drugs. The hospitals used the 340B Drug Pricing Program, which allows for hospitals to get some drugs for cheaper in order to help keep costs low for providers in low-income and rural communities.

(WECT) - Daytoon Distributors, known for Blue Shark Vodka, has filed a civil lawsuit for at least $75,000 in damages for thousands of tequila bottles that it says went missing in transit in Dec. 2023. The lawsuit was filed on Friday, April 26, 2024, to hold liable Tazmanian Freight Forwarding and Landstar Express America.
