Horses, carriages and horse-drawn public omnibuses were still the mode of transport in Paris, as everywhere. Three sisters worked as seamstresses for the blanket company and joined Herms. Soon, one of the sisters, Eugénie Eve, decided to change careers and became the first leatherworker at Hermès, where she remained until 1941.
