The first feature in this blog series is going way back to my first attempt at writing a short story. When I wrote this little book, I had just finished publishing the book of poetry and art from Rick and myself. I had no idea what I wanted to do next, then a short story contest presented itself, and I took advantage of it to try my hand at fiction. While I had written songs that would be considered fiction, I’d never tried writing a story. To my surprise, the book won first place in the contest.

I am thrilled to host another Story Empire colleague today to talk about her newest release. D. Wallace Peach has won awards for her pristine storytelling abilities and this new book is another fantastic example of her work. But, I’ll let Diana tell you all about it. Having had the pleasure of reading this book, I can highly recommend it. You can read my review HERE!Thanks so much for offering to host me on Day 4 of my tour, Jan. It’s a pleasure to visit with you in the great state of Texas.

Happy Monday, friends. I hope everyone is well and feeling positive about a new week. We had our first snow of the year and, no this photo is not from the snow, but from Canva. It’s rare for Texas to get snow this early in January. However, it was short lived – only a couple of days and now everything is slushy. But the grandkids got to build their very first big snowman! They were so excited. The two that are my grandchildren are on either side of the girl in the middle, who is a close family friend.

Welcome to a new year and the first Monday post of 2025. While I enjoyed my blogging break, I am ready to get back into some sort of routine. The kids return to school this week and that will help to get back to some normalcy. But it’s been fun and I’ve enjoyed all the family activities. Each new year, I receive a word that represents the theme for the year. This year, I waited patiently until the word came and it’s one I will embrace daily throughout the year – GRATITUDE.

Hello, and happy November!! I love the fall of the year. It’s my favorite time and I always feel energized. I’ve just returned from a book event for A Noble Bargain, at the Crossett Public Library in Crossett, Arkansas. Had a great turnout and gained new readers! A win-win.
