    The South African National Space Agency (Sansa) space weather centre reports that a solar storm hit the Earth that impacted satellite navigation systems in South Africa. Based on data from the United States National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), a Severe-class solar storm hit on Wednesday and continues as a Minor-class storm on Thursday.

MyBroadband has learned that investors are unhappy with Pays’ management style and claim he has been wasteful and reckless with their funds.     MyBroadband Insights has released its Q1 2025 Mobile Network Quality Report, which shows that Cell C has overtaken Vodacom to become the second-best network in South Africa. MTN still has the best mobile network in South Africa, while Vodacom is the only operator whose overall network quality score has decreased since last quarter. The findings are based on 306,299 speed tests conducted by 6,999 mobile users across the country between 1 January and 31 March 2025.

    Internet service provider Afrihost has warned customers to expect their product prices to increase on 1 May 2025 as a result of the finance minister increasing VAT from 15% to 15.5%. “It’s our goal to provide the best products and service in South Africa, and we will continue to strive to bring you the best Internet experience possible,” Afrihost said. Afrihost is the latest of several companies that have told customers to expect their prices to increase from next month.
