    By By Jana Lynn Kilcrease | Herald Staff Writer The city of Killeen canceled its annual Memorial Day ceremony at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery because of bad weather Monday, but that didn't stop some service members and families who showed up at the cemetery from reflecting on the somber holiday. "My dad would've worked in the rain and thunderstorms," Craig Wilson, 15, said. "There's no reason we can't take time to remember the soldiers that did that for our country."

    The National Weather Service in Fort Worth is reporting a slight increase in hot weather through Tuesday with high temperatures in the low 90s, dipping back into the 80s for the rest of the week. According to meteorologists, a wavy frontal boundary will meander in place from the southern Rockies eastward through Texas/Oklahoma and into the Southeast.

    Following another great rodeo season in Killeen, the Rodeo Killeen Association brought three trucks full of food to Nyle Maxwell in Killeen to donate to local food drives in the area. The food amounted to over 5,000 pounds of canned food from last weekend's event.
