As Cal’s “do-it-all guy” with 2023 Freshman All-American accolades to his name and leading receiver with 460 yards through nine games in his second season of play, tight end Jack Endries didn’t always have a love for football. In fact, not too long ago, he didn’t even find the sport appealing. “I only started watching (football) because I’d play fantasy football with my friends. Cal football earned its first ACC win under the Friday night lights in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, against Wake Forest. The 46-36 final margin was a result of ebbs and flows, as the Bears held on tight to their lead deep in the final frame. “I’ve watched ACC football and followed the ACC Network (since I was) a little kid. At my house, we didn’t need to redownload it when we did conference realignment,” said redshirt sophomore quarterback Fernando Mendoza about his first ACC win.
