1. IntroductionAbnormal uterine bleeding (AUB) is the most common reason for gynecologic consultation in the United States, resulting in USD 34 billion of health care costs annually [1,2]. One in three women will have undergone a hysterectomy by the age of 60, resulting in high health care utilization to treat this problem [3]. National statistics reveal that the use of inpatient hysterectomy has decreased over the years [3].
