Many women in Australia still remember a time when they had no say in how they gave birth. When they had to follow the instructions of a (usually male) doctor telling them how best to do it. The systemic effects of sexism and those in power thinking they knew best saw women locked out of policymaking and leadership roles. We were subject to the policies made in our absence.
