ROYAL PALM BEACH, Fla. — At one of our recent Let’s Hear It meet ups in Wellington, I met Diane Gutman, who wanted to tell us about a nonprofit she's part of that could use some help. Gutman is the director of operations for Our Community Cares. The nonprofit helps nearly 150 seniors with daily tasks that might be a challenge for them, like getting to doctor’s appointments, picking up prescriptions, or even getting food delivered to them.

More than 36 athletes qualified to compete for the Refugee Olympic Team in Paris. These athletes come from 11 different countries. WPTV anchor Janny Rodriguez spoke with a refugee Olympic athlete from Cuba who lives and trains in Southwest Florida. Fernando Dayan Jorge Enriquez, 25, hopes the summer games in Paris will be another opportunity to add to his medal count.

New Moms Connect in Palm Beach County helping mothers in need

PALM BEACH COUNTY, Fla. — Elizabeth Reynen Paro and Ashley Moon sorted through donations, anything from a baby carrier to shoes and kid’s clothes. "We usually take all the bags out, well sort it by sizes and by gender," Moon said. "While were sorting and shopping the kids can play together in her backyard," Paro said. Paro said she runs New Moms Connect. "I’ve been running it since 2018 when my daughter who is six was 3 months old," she said. Through the group is how Paro met Moon.
Nonprofit Vita Nova partners with Boynton Beach to help homeless youths

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. — The city of Boynton Beach is doing its part to give homeless youths a chance at getting their lives back on track. And a new partnership with local nonprofit, Vita Nova, is helping to make it possible. WPTV anchor/reporter Janny Rodriguez met Alexandra Smiley at WPTV's "Let's Hear It" event in Boynton Beach. "I work for a place called Vita Nova and we got a grant from the city of Boynton Beach,” Smiley said.
