    Librettist/director Constantine Costi and composer Luke Di Somma took quite a gamble when they set about retelling the story of Siegfried & Roy, the ‘tiger kings of Vegas’ and the most successful magicians of all time. Fortunately, in opera (as in magic) anything is possible, and Costi and Di Somma have come up trumps, creating a tragicomic opera that is as camp as it is moving.

Acclaimed as one of the finest exponents of Baroque, classical and modern repertoire, Mobley reached a global television audience of over 40 million viewers when he sang at the coronation of King Charles III. His Alpha Classics debut release, Because, received a GRAMMY nomination for Best Classical Solo Vocal Album in 2023.

Sensual and ominous, it is the perfect start to Wagner’s Die Walküre, in which forbidden love and law collide. Performed by the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, it is the second instalment in Simone Young’s multi-year Ring Cycle which began with Das Rheingold last November.
