After defeating the Creighton Bluejays 6-3 last night in Omaha and extending their winning streak to two games, the Nebraska baseball team is set for a weekend series with the Northwestern Wildcats. It was a very productive night for the Husker bats, with both Case Sanderson and Joshua Overbeek hitting 2 for 5, but it was Dylan Carey who stole the show. Carey was 3 for 3, while both driving and scoring two runs in.

Hoping to end a five game losing streak, Nebraska will take on an Arizona State team that has lost 12 of their last 13 games, in the inaugural Crown Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada. Fred Hoiberg and the Huskers missed out on both the NCAA and Big Ten Conference Tournament, but most certainly have what it takes to make a run and win this tournament.

The running back room for the Huskers is going to look very different this upcoming season. After rushing for 614 yards and 12 touchdowns after transferring in from Oregon, running back Dante Dowdell decided to enter his name into the transfer portal, shortly after it was announced the Emmett Johnson would be withdrawing his name from the transfer portal. While the Huskers are set with rising running back Emmett Johnson, there isn’t a ton of familiarity or experience to back him up.

Earlier this Monday morning it was announced that the Nebraska Cornhuskers were selected to play the Arizona State Sun Devils in the College Basketball Crown, which is being held in Las Vegas, Nevada from March 31st to April 6th. This selection comes after Fred Hoiberg’s squad were on the ropes of making the NCAA Tournament, before losing their last five games to end the regular season to drop their record to 17-14, while missing out on the Big Ten Tournament.

Playing the Quarterback position at Nebraska is one that comes with great praise and stardom, to counter that, playing the quarterback position at Nebraska is one that comes with extreme pressure and scrutiny. Just last season, then 5 star true freshman quarterback Dylan Raiola led the Nebraska Cornhuskers to a 4-1 start, averaging 245 yards per game while throwing nine touchdowns to two interceptions. During the next four starts, it looked like a completely flipped script.
