BOSTON - Jayson Tatum suffered what appeared to be a serious right ankle injury late in the fourth quarter of the Boston Celtics' 121-113 loss to the New York Knicks during Game 4 of conference semifinals Monday, putting his season potentially in jeopardy. When Knicks wing OG Anunoby stole a pass intended for Tatum with 3:07 left in Game 4, Tatum planted his right foot behind him and his leg appeared to give out, sending Tatum crashing to the floor.

NEW YORK - Jayson Tatum says he lives a great life. The Boston Celtics star knows he makes a lot of money, takes care of his family, and experiences things most people can only dream of. But with that comes a price. Expectations. Blame. Disappointment. A reality that others are constantly trying to distort because you either made their day or ruined it by living your life. It's why, after his losing turnover to end Game 2, Tatum threw himself under the bus.

BOSTON - Great teams are born of a distinct identity. It might not be unique, but its contours reflect the makeup of the locker room and the organization's vision. For the past two years, the Boston Celtics defined the direction of the NBA with their endless versatility and unrelenting desire to shoot the 3. It didn't always work, but it worked enough in the aggregate for the Celtics to win a championship and then enter the playoffs positioned to potentially do it again. It's not working right now.

CLEVELAND - Tyrese Haliburton might be on top of the world now, but he remembers the day he couldn't look in the mirror. Back in Indiana after a brutal loss to Charlotte in early November, he didn't want to go to work the next day. The New York Knicks, whose season he ended in the playoffs a few months earlier, were in town. But he couldn't stop thinking about the stinker he put up in Madison Square Garden two weeks earlier in the Pacers' second game of the 2024-25 season. Zero points.

BOSTON - Karl-Anthony Towns had never played quite this way. Not during the regular season. Not at the end of his run with the Minnesota Timberwolves. Not even before then, when Tom Thibodeau, who now leads the New York Knicks, was his head coach. Monday evening, more than any other, was the night that Towns switched, jostling off his primary defensive assignments while guarding pick-and-rolls to take on the Boston Celtics' nastiest perimeter threats.

Tyrese Haliburton's incredible run has propelled the Indiana Pacers to their second-staight conference finals. Who could've seen this coming back in November? Not Haliburton, who was struggling with a crisis in confidence. He opened up to @TheAthletic about his mental health https://t.co/vhn5Ti5DNv
