28-year-old Shaquan Lavar Knight was arrested and charged with murder in Tuscaloosa. The victim, 28-year-old Autumn Monea Mack, was found dead at a storage unit business on Greensboro Avenue. The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. Saturday during a gathering at the storage unit. Police say the shooting followed a verbal altercation between Mack and Knight. A juvenile was charged with capital murder in connection with a shooting that left a man dead early Friday morning in Cottondale. At around 3 a.m., Tuscaloosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded after a shooting was reported in the 5400 block of 19th Street E in the Cottondale community. Cornelius Darnell Witherspoon, 39 was found dead inside his vehicle, said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. The Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit was called to assume the investigation.

A 22-year-old man has been charged in connection with multiple sexual offenses in Northport and Cottondale. In the last few months, investigators with the sexual assault section of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit conducted an investigation into a report of sexual abuse of a child, said Capt. Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit. While conducting the investigation, two other alleged victims were identified.
