Did you work out Abbott is a single-leg amputee in The Pitt? If you did spot the shocking finale twist a mile off, you weren’t the only one. The binge-worthy TV show ended with the day shift trying to decompress from the shift from hell. Amidst the spontaneous debrief, Abbott is revealed to be a single-leg amputee, missing his right leg from the knee down. We already knew the medic was a military veteran, with hints about his past outside the ER dropped in throughout Season 1.

There’s no surprise that we’ve got some burning questions after that season finale. Dana is threatening to walk out on the ER altogether, Langdon risks losing his hospital license after being caught with drugs in his locker, and Abbott’s time in the military is starting to creep into view.
