Big weekend for Auburn softballNeeding a big week to finish off SEC play, the Auburn Tigers survived a scare during the midweek with a 1-0 win over South Alabama to set the stage for a series against Top 20 South Carolina at home. Following an epic comeback on Friday night that saw the Tigers score six runs in the bottom of the seventh to win, Auburn played one of its most complete games in the last few years in a big win on Saturday to take the series.

AUBURN, Alabama–Cooper McMurray and Eric Guevara both had three hits and drove in three runs for a relentless Auburn offensive attack on Sunday afternoon as the No. 11 Tigers outscored Mississippi State 14-8 to take the series from the Bulldogs. With the win Auburn improves to 30-14 overall and 11-10 in SEC play. Coach Butch Thompson's team is now 9-3 at home in SEC play this season after knocking off the Bulldogs on Sunday.

AUBURN, Alabama–Auburn had four solo home runs on Saturday night but it wasn't enough to overcome a six-run inning for Mississippi State as the Bulldogs raced out to a big lead and held on to win 12-7 to even the series. The loss drops the No. 11 Tigers to 29-14 overall and 10-10 in SEC play while the Bulldogs improve to 28-14, 7-13 in league action. Despite scoring seven runs, Auburn was never able to get back into the game after falling behind big early.

A Penn State transfer that had a big year in 2024 for the Auburn Tigers, KeAndre Lambert-Smith was drafted in the fifth round on Saturday by the Los Angeles Chargers with the 158th overall pick. In his only season at Auburn, Lambert-Smith established himself as one of the best wide receivers in the Southeastern Conference with 50 receptions for 981 yards and eight touchdowns. He earned second-team All-SEC honors and his 19.62 yards per reception was eighth nationally.
