An employee with Blue Star Recycling from Denver tosses a MacBook computer into a box of discarded electronic waste at the Marolt Housing parking lot on Saturday. The city of Aspen sponsored the event that allowed people to dump their unwanted e-waste with no charge. The event, funded by the city’s paper-bag fee, resulted in 38 recycling boxes filled with e-waste unloaded by 298 individuals, according to officials.

Tony Maganini with the Carbondale Fire Department dumps a bucket full of pingpong balls from a fire engine ladder at the annual Rotary Club of Carbondale Fireball Drop held Friday on the lawn of the Village Smithy Restaurant. The Rotary Club had its best year for the fundraiser event, selling out more than 1,000 pingpong balls ahead of the drop.

Sopris Elementary School students were treated Thursday morning to a performance from 11 dance majors from Colorado State University in partnership with Aspen Dance Connection. Five elementary schools from Glenwood Springs to Rifle took in the performances.
