It's like clockwork at this point...The calendar reads Saturday or Sunday, and the forecast calls for rain. This pattern will continue for Father's Day weekend as a low-pressure system riding along a stalled front to the south brings showers to the region through the first half of Saturday. A wave of low pressure developing along the stationary front will be the culprit this weekend.

What a gorgeous afternoon across Southern New England as we bask in the sunshine and enjoy nice, warm, seasonal temperatures in the mid-70s! All of this is thanks to an area of high pressure sitting to the south of the region. We've earned this nice weather! (WJAR)Not a bad evening for any sports or even firing up the grill! The only thing that will be noticeable is the addition of more upper-level clouds right around sunset.

Lots of clouds initially on Father's Day, but there'll be more breaks of sunshine in the afternoon as temperatures warm into the upper 60s. https://t.co/Eiiov0C4x9

Consecutive weekends of rain in Southern New England are becoming unhinged. Hartford is leading the charge with 15 consecutive rainy weekends. The streak will continue as more rain is forecast for Saturday morning. https://t.co/cAsKCOZ18t

More clouds are in the forecast for Friday, but it will still be a pleasant afternoon with seasonal temperatures, thanks to an afternoon sea breeze! https://t.co/tiUUp0Oizb
