The GardFather is coming. Evan Gardner, the 60th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft had a very good year for the Saskatoon Blades of the WHL. So good, that he was picked by fans as the team MVP for the Blades. AdvertisementGardner went 23-13-5 with a SV% of .911 during the regular season. They didn't do so well in the playoffs, being swept in the first round, but all in all, it was a great season for the young goalie from Fort St. John, British Columbia.

This summer, Spencer Lazary and I will continue our series with more potential free agent targets that could be on the market on July 1st. Dadonov was drafted by the Florida Panthers in 2007 and spent the first six years of career in Sunrise. He was traded to Carolina in in 2012, but chose to return to the KHL later that summer. He came back to the U.S. after signing a free agent deal with Florida in 2017, but left Florida again in 2020 when he signed a deal with the Ottawa Senators.
