HOUSTON – A fast start and a flashy finish helped the Northwestern State baseball team salvage the finale of a Southland Conference series at Houston Christian. The Demons swatted three first-inning home runs to build a big lead and turned three double plays, including two in the final two innings, en route to a 10-5 win against HCU on Sunday afternoon at Husky Field.

HOUSTON – The Northwestern State baseball team’s second game of its Southland Conference series at Houston Christian played out much different than the first. The result, however, stayed the same for the Demons. A slow start on the mound and at the plate put Northwestern in an early hole and a pair of late HCU insurance runs allowed the Huskies to clinch the series with a 5-2 win Saturday afternoon at Husky Field.

HOUSTON – The Northwestern State baseball team survived one Southland Conference series opener with a short outing from its starting pitcher. It could not replicate the feat Friday night. League-leading Houston Christian tallied double-figure hits and double-figure walks as the Huskies erased a couple of early deficits en route to a 17-10 victory at Husky Field.
