As of December 3, 2024, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas has issued a preliminary injunction pausing the nationwide enforcement of the Corporate Transparency Act and its implementing rules (collectively, the "CTA"). The CTA, effective as of January 1, 2024, was enacted for the purpose of curbing money laundering, terrorism financing, and other illicit activities.

In a significant update to the upcoming implementation of the Corporate Transparency Act (CTA), the Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) has extended the filing deadline for reporting entities formed between January 1, 2024, and December 31, 2024, to 90 calendar days from the date of formation to submit their initial reports.
